Mothering the Mother, English
favorite_border

Join Maite for a very special practice to honor and mother yourself not only as a mother, but also as a person that can tap into the maternal energy of nurturing and caring for others. Give yourself space to tap into the heart, nourish the body, and connect to the part of you that is able to create so that you may continue tending to yourself and others from a restored and mindful place.

You'll begin this gentle practice lying down in Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclined Bound Angle) to ground and connect to the body and breath. You'll move to your side to softly warm up the glutes and inner thighs, then come to a seated position to create space and release tension in the side body and spine. Move into a tabletop position for a few rounds of Cat/Cow and gentle hip opening and continue with Virasana (Hero's Pose) and tender neck and shoulder stretches. Transition back to seated for Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold) and finally make your way to nurturing Savasana, with an option to try a modified supported version for pregnancy.

For this practice, you will need a blanket and two blocks (or homemade substitutes). A strap is optional for additional length support.
