Upside Down Granola In A Jar from The Yoga Girl® Kitchen

Granola is such an easy thing to make and it's a great snack to have lying around the kitchen.

It's so satisfying to make your own rather use the store bought, and it will make your kitchen smell amazing!

This granola is all natural and super tasty. We've shared our favorite ingredients below, but you can add in anything you like!

We love to add lots of dried fruit for digestion and flavor, shredded coconut, chia seeds and hazlenuts for healthy fats, cinnamon for digestion, and almonds for protein.

It makes a great base for yogurt, your favorite berries and a drizzle of raw honey. Enjoy!

The Ingredients:

Granola

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup oats
  • ½ cup shredded coconut
  • ½ cup chopped hazelnuts
  • ½ cup slivered almonds
  • ½ cup dried figs
  • ½ cup chopped dried apricots
  • ½ teaspoon chia seeds
  • Pinch Himalayan Sea Salt
  • Pinch Cinnamon

Topping Ingredients:

  • Yogurt (Greek, Turkish, or vegan coconut yogurt!)
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blackberries
  • Agave

The Process:

Start by making the granola.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. In a small bowl, mix the coconut oil and the maple syrup and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together with the dried fruits and then add the coconut, maple syrup mix. Mix well – use your hands if you like!

  4. Put the mixture in an oven safe pan and bake until your entire kitchen smells delicious (or until the mixture has turned golden). Let it cool.

  5. Put the granola at the bottom of a mason jar. Fill the jar with yogurt and add a mix of berries. Drizzle honey on top and enjoy heaven in a jar!

*You can put pretty much anything in your granola: different kinds of seeds, nuts and dried fruits. Or why not add pieces of dark chocolate after the mixture has cooled?
