[00:39] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Tuesday, you guys! It's Tune-In Tuesday, which means it's time for a little bit of self-reflection. Our topic today is something that makes us happy. This is such a fun thing to reflect on because sometimes, especially when it comes to personal development and doing this inner kind of work, we tend to focus on the heavier things or our past wounds or triggers or things we know we need to work on to become lighter and more balanced people. But it’s very important to also continue reflecting on the things that actually bring us absolute happiness and joy. Because when you really get to the heart of it, the truth might actually be that you are not inviting enough of those things and people and situations in your life that actually make you genuinely happy. So let's take this moment to close our eyes and find a comfortable place to sit so that we can tune into what the heart speaks of right now, placing your hands to your heart. Let's take a full breath in through the nose and let it out.
[01:59] So just as you are in this moment, since we're reflecting on joy and happiness right now, go ahead and let the corners of the mouth turn into a big smile. And we can even, you know, if you're not feeling very joyful in this moment, it's actually possible to trick ourselves into experiencing a little bit of joy by smiling, right? By acting as if we're happy just for right now. So letting that smile emanate from your face, hands to your heart. What is something that makes your heart so genuinely happy and joyful? What is that one thing that you do? That one thing that you have that one experience that you know, that habit, that ritual, that plays something that you know you already have in your life that makes you so very joyful. And I'm talking not just the kind of everyday fleeting kind of happiness that passes very quickly, but absolute joy, that thing that makes your heart sing.
[03:04] And of course it's going to be very different for all of us. We all have different things that hopefully we have infused in our day-to-day lives that make us really happy. For me, the moment I just inquire on this topic immediately, I see my daughter's face in front of me. She brings me so much joy. So much happiness every day. I also can see my dogs there always wagging their tail, so happy to see me regardless of what's been moving through our day. What is that thing or that person or that experience that you have that brings you real happiness? Perhaps it's something that you do right? Maybe painting, maybe drawing, maybe writing, maybe reading. Perhaps it's moving your body in a specific way or creating something. Maybe it's a person that you don't get to see all the time, but you always have so much fun and feel so joyful and at peace when they're around.
[03:57] Give yourself this moment to deeply inquire on what actually makes you happy. Oh, you can hear my daughter laughing in the background. So yeah, we have a little bit of extra happiness infused into this episode, but once you have that connection to what makes you genuinely happy, reflect a little bit on how often you are able to connect to this thing or this place in your life. Do you give yourself undisturbed time to experience this happiness every day, every week, every month, a couple times a year? Or is it this rare occurrence that it's actually not that often, that you give yourself that space or that you take the time to do that thing that makes you so, so, so happy? And perhaps the end result of this short moment of self-inquiry is how can you infuse more of this kind of happiness into your life?
[04:58] I know for me, you know, listening to my daughter, laughing, giving myself more undisturbed time to just play with her. I mean, that's such an easy and such a beautifully heartwarming way for me to infuse more of that happiness and joy into my life and then finding out what's true for you. What is a way that you can bring more happiness and more joy into your life? Really connecting to that one thing that you do or that one thing that you have or that one person in your life that brings you so much joy. Because here's the thing. You deserve to be genuinely happy and you deserve to feel that happiness every single day. I hope this moment of self-reflection has brought some love and happiness into your life. Thank you so much for listening. Yoga Girl Daily will be back tomorrow.
