[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily, happy Thursday and welcome to our gratitude practice of the week! I am really excited about today. It's a good day today. Wherever you are, however you're feeling, it's time for us to practice some gratitude, which of course we know has the ability to turn a crappy day around. This week we are really contemplating areas of our lives that are feeling weighed down and heavy and how we can bring some freshness, some space, some new energy into our lives, exactly to the areas where we need it. So for our gratitude practice today, I really want to take a moment to bring our awareness to one area of our life that is absolutely alive right now. One area of our life that is buzzing with energy as we speak. And you know what I'm talking about. One area of your life, you know you have this area of your life, even if a lot of things are hard, even if you have a lot of problems, we all have problems, especially now.

[01:07] So many of us are experiencing tough days. An area of your life that is really alive. Think about that. Take a moment right now. Just to feel into that. For me, immediately my awareness is drawn to two things actually. First thing, the first thing I can think about, and I know I'm kind of talking about this a lot, so if I start, if I start to be repetitive, you have to let me know. But an area of my life that is buzzing with energy and life is my garden. I mean, obviously. New things are sprouting every day. Whenever I just feel into the energy of the creation that is happening in the garden. And it's not just the things I'm planting, right? But because I'm dedicating presence to this area of my life, things are moving and growing and shifting every day. Even my husband who really doesn't like to do chores, like who really doesn't like to, you know, he prefers to like take it easy and hang out on the couch, has been doing handiwork in the garden every day.

[02:12] So every day something new is happening, something new is being created even without my presence there. So that's the first thing that comes to mind for me. And then the second thing where I can send some freshness is actually I have this corner of my kitchen where I'm fermenting things. I'm making ginger beer right now and kombucha and I have some pickled onions and some yogurt and things going, you know, an area that's really alive, like literally alive right now. So you might notice in my voice, the moment I start to speak about these areas of my life that have a lot of fresh energy, my energy goes up, right? My excitement in my voice goes up. So by focusing on these areas of my life, I can actually help to bring fresh life and fresh energy to the areas of my life that have been a little stagnant, that haven't been working so much.

[03:05] So right now, finding for yourself, what is this area of your life that has a lot of life right now? Perhaps you have revived an old hobby that you used to, something used to love to do, but you know, pre-Corona, you just said you don't have enough time. Like maybe you're painting a lot right now and you haven't been painting in a long time. That means that your inner sense of creativity probably feels very much alive right now. Maybe your connection to your inner child to playfulness feels really alive like it has this fresh vibrancy around it. Perhaps you have an area of your house that feels really fresh, right? Something that where you've brought new energy, new presence, where you've dedicated some work, some hours to beautify. Maybe you have a relationship that feels really alive right now. A lot of us have rekindled friendships and old relationships where maybe we didn't have as much time or didn't dedicate as much time to actually nourishing those friendships before, but now of course being stuck at home, we have the time to do that.

[04:07] So right now our gratitude practice really is to bring awareness to this one or several areas of your life where you feel like there is fresh energy, it's vibrant, it's delicious, it has some sunshine. Even if the sun isn't shining outside, it has this fresh light, colorful, exciting, alive energy about it. And then really brings some gratitude to the fact that you have this thing, this relationship, this area in your life. And also acknowledge your ability to create that kind of energy anywhere you need it. So if you have that stagnant area of your life, the thing that isn't working, know that if you apply the same presence, the same dedication, the same intention, the same work, the same gratitude as you're doing to these alive areas of your life, you will be able to translate that to areas that need some fresh energy right now as well. So gratitude for these fresh, alive parts of our life, and hopefully that gratitude can spill over and give us a little more, a little more energy because we all have areas where we need a little more energy as well. Thank you so much for getting excited with me today. I hope you really practice gratitude today and I hope you're able to really feel this energy here now. Thank you so much for tuning in. Yoga Girl Daily will be back tomorrow.
