[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily, happy Friday, and welcome to our Feel-Good Friday episode of this week. So, normally on Fridays I share something to make us feel good, right? So normally a self-care practice or something we can take with us into the weekend. And once in a blue moon, I read something that has moved me lately. And today my mind and my heart has been lingering with this poem. And I just really want to read it to you. And this poem is by one of my favorite poets. I'm sure you know her, Rupi Kaur. She's a magical human being. Her words are just heart-opening, I think is a good way to describe it. So, this is an excerpt from a poem of hers called, ‘What Love Looks Like’.
Love does not look like a person.
Love is our actions.
Love is giving all we can, even if it's just the bigger slice of cake.
Love is understanding we have the power to hurt one another, but we are going to do everything in our power to make sure we don't.
Love is figuring out all the kind sweetness we deserve.
And when someone shows up saying they will provide it as you do, but their actions seem to break you rather than build you, love is knowing who to choose.
[01:38] Let's take a deep breath into that. Open the mouth, exhale. Love does not look like a person. Love is our actions. I'm feeling this so deeply today. If you want to continue opening your heart all through the weekend, I super recommend Rupi’s books, ‘The Sun and Her Flowers’ is a beautiful one and, ‘Milk and Honey’ as well. Thank you so much for tuning in today and thank you, Rupi Kaur for your beautiful words. Wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead. Yoga Girl Daily will be back on Monday.
