[00:39] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Thursday, everyone! It's Thursday today, which of course means it's time for us to drop into our gratitude practice. It's Thankful Thursday! A beautiful day to really feel into and find gratitude within ourselves, within our bodies, within our lives. And also of course express it. And that's the thing about this practice is that I have to actually carve out space and time the way I roll out my mat and I make time for my yoga practice. I have to sit down, close my eyes and make time for gratitude as well, otherwise, if I don't do it or if I have many days in a row where I forget to actually practice gratitude, I start to get a little bit complainy, but that's the first thing that happens when we lose sight of all the beautiful things we already have present in our lives.
[01:29] We start to look at the things that we are lacking instead of focusing on the things that we already have present, and that's a really dangerous path to walk down. If we start to look at only the obstacles, we are only focused on everything that isn't working or focusing on what's missing, what we don't have and we're just going to continue seeing more and more of that. Then all of a sudden we're going to look at our lives and we're going to look at our lives as if we're failing. We're going to see everything that we didn't accomplish. We're going to see everything that we didn't acquire yet or all the dreams we didn't fulfill or everything we, you know, maybe failed at instead of succeeded at. And when we look at those things and we focus on those things, they really magnify and the energy and vibration that comes along with that is really hard to move away from. So the absolute best way to snap out of a funk or to get out of that complaining mode is to drop into a place of gratitude. It works and it works immediately. It's instant gratification, literally by shifting your awareness and focusing on the things that are already there. And it doesn't mean that you don't have problems or issues or that you don't have things lacking. You can absolutely lack in many areas of your life and still have a beautiful gratitude practice and still have this gratitude practice able to transform your life.
[03:08] So what do you have in your life right now? That's actually already working. Really. Perhaps you've been really stuck on that one thing that isn't going super well. Maybe it's something within your business or perhaps you have a relationship you're struggling with or maybe something within yourself or a goal you've been working toward for a long time, but it's not happening yet and you're focused on that one thing that for whatever reason, isn't really going your way right now. Well, let's just put that one thing or those things aside completely and for this practice today, for this Thankful Thursday, sit with what's already presently working for you and your life, and you can take a moment to close your eyes just to really feel that on a cellular low level, what do you have in your life that's already working? I love this inquiry because it's so amazing how quickly it can turn.
[04:06] My whole mindset around when I think of the things I have that are already working. Many of them are things that I take for granted that I forget to be grateful for every single day. And they're really big things. Like my relationship with my husband, we very rarely fight. We have such a great relationship. We have a beautiful, beautiful marriage and it's sometimes so easy that I forget to actually express that gratitude to my husband and say, “Hey, I appreciate everything you do from me every day”. Or “Hey, I appreciate our relationship so much. I'm so grateful for us that we have this right”. I get focused on things that aren't working. Instead of focusing on the things that really do, and getting into that vibration of appreciating and being grateful for the many things that we already have that are flowing, it puts us on the track toward more flow.
[04:57] And that's the coolest part of all. So the more we focus on gratitude, the more things we'll have in our lives eventually to actually be grateful for. So I would love for you to sit down, open up a brand new page in your notebook, and write at the very top, “Something that's already working in my life that I am grateful for is…”. “Something that is already working in my life that I'm grateful for is…”. Write that down and then take a moment to really feel that gratitude fill your heart. And before you know it, you'll see more and more things in your life that are already working. We all have so much to be grateful for as our lives are here now. Thank you so much for tuning in with me today. Thank you for sitting with us, gratitude for expressing your gratitude. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for tuning in. I'll see you tomorrow.
