[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily, happy Monday, and welcome to our intention setting practice of this week. It is actually my birthday today! I am really, really, really excited to be sharing this episode today on my birthday. To have an intention setting practice on my birthday is just wonderful. I love the timing of this, and I have decided for an intention for us all for this week a little bit in honor of my birthday. If I was able to make a birthday wish right now, it would be for all of us to take this week and anchor into being of service. We have had intention setting episodes before on the Yoga Girl Podcast, around being of service, around helping other people, helping the world. And I think it's been a while since we actually set service as an intention for the whole week. So, that's what we're going to do this week.
[01:01] I think right now, more than ever, is it easy to actually be of service to other people. There are so many people across the world suffering right now. I know you're listening to this; you probably are going through a hard time. I know there are people not just across the globe and far away from you, but people in your day to day life, people in your community, in your neighborhood, in your city that could use some help right now. And there are different ways to be of service. You know, we don't have to start our own non-profit organization or donate thousands of dollars. You know, we all have different abilities and different unique ways we can be of service in our own way. So, by simply setting the intention this week to look for ways to be of service, almost as if you're just keeping your eyes peeled open in a different way for how you can serve someone, it is going to put you on the path toward service.
[01:56] Trust me when I say that. I think every single day as we kind of move through our day to day lives, we are presented with opportunities to be truly kind to other people. And an act of service can be something as simple as just asking another human being if they need help with something, you know. What a wonderful thing to do today, to go around in your own life, in your own community and just check in with people, Hey, do you need something? Is there something I can do for you? Something I can offer you right now? Perhaps the person on the other end of that does need your help with something really simple. Maybe there's someone in your community right now that could use a little bit of help with babysitting, or maybe you have a service or something that you offer in terms of your work or your business that you can offer for free to entrepreneurs and to small businesses in your area right now, perhaps you can help somebody do some groceries or cook them an amazing meal, or just be a listening ear for someone else who is in need right now. Of course, you can also be of service through funds, through your money, through donating money, to an organization that's a value right now.
[03:02] Or an organization that you really resonate with. And my favorite thing right now, especially if you are in the US and you are in this very, you know, kind of critical political moment right now, perhaps you can help someone register to vote. I think that would be a wonderful way to be of service right now, if you are in the US. So, wherever you're at and whatever kind of is happening around you, trusting that when you put yourself on the path of service, that you're going to be presented with opportunities to actually help other people. And being of service to other people, helping someone else out is one of those few things out there that have been scientifically proven to actually help us feel better every single time. So, it is one of those things. It's always going to be a win-win, as long as you begin by filling your own cup, and then using the space, the time, the tools, the resources that you have left over to help someone else.
[04:01] So, our collective intention this week, for my birthday week, is: This week, I will do my best to be of service. This week I will do my best to be of service. So, even if it's one single thing that you do this week, to be helpful to someone else just know that at the end of this week, you can feel really good knowing that you have actually made an impact in another person's life. And I think that's part of our purpose, all of us individually and collectively, is to help each other out, to remind each other constantly that we are not going through this alone, but we are in this together. Wishing you a really beautiful week ahead. I hope you feel good. And I hope being of service this week brings a big smile to your face each time. Thank you so much for tuning in. I’ll be back tomorrow.
