This week, we aren’t just slowing down, we are slowing everything down!

All aspects of our lives tend to run at a high pace; there is work to be done, children to take care of, and a to-do list to check off.

But rushing and hurrying through life often leads us nowhere.

How can you apply slowing down in your day-to-day? Where can you adopt a softer, kinder, gentler pace?

As soon as you slow down, you’ll realize it’s possible to still be productive – and you won’t miss out on the little moments that mean everything.


[00:49] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily. Happy Monday! Welcome to the show. It's a brand new day. We have the whole week ahead and as usual, every Monday, it's time for us to sit down and set our intentions for the week. For this week, I have a beautiful intention in mind and this is actually a personal intention that I set for myself pretty much every week and something that I return to again and again just because it's so important and when I actually am able to anchor into this as an intention, everything is much easier in my life. But as with most things that are really important to us, it's hard for me sometimes to actually remember an anchor into this intention. So I'm hoping that you guys can help me commit to this intention as well. This week, I am slowing everything down. Hmm. Ah, I love it so much!

[01:51] This week, I am slowing everything down. And let's take a moment just to feel how that is moving or vibrating through the body. This week, I am slowing everything down. I first set that intention as this week I will slow down, but I like the phrasing of the sentence. This week. I am slowing everything down because I want us to apply this to everything. We all know that our day-to-day lives, they tend to run at a pretty high pace. Of course, especially if you're busy at work or juggling many different things. If you have a toddler at home like I do, everything is literally, you know, going at a hundred miles per hour all day long. So when I say this week I am slowing everything down, I really mean it. How can you apply slowing down, moving at a softer, gentler, kinder pace in every single area of your life? So perhaps immediately your mind goes to the area of your life where you feel like you are speeding up a lot.

[02:52] And of course that's a great area to start. So if you find yourself really busy, feeling like you're rushing, hurrying through things at work, that's a beautiful place to start this week, to find ways to slow things down, be a little bit more patient with yourself, see if you can rearrange your schedule in a way so that you don't find yourself rushing to and from appointments. Maybe be a little bit more realistic and reasonable with your to-do list this week. How can you give yourself some space to slow things down in that area? But let's not end there, but let's have that gentler pace be something that we can infuse into every area of your life. So how about in our family life? How can we slow things down when we're with our spouse, with our girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, maybe with our kids. That's an area where I really want to apply slowing down this week because I know that when I slow down, my daughter slows down as well.

[03:44] So what are some activities or ways for us to play where we're just kind of tuning inward a little bit more than being loud and running fast on the outside? Perhaps for you, you know there is a completely different area of your life where you know you could use a little bit of a gentler pace. So today's a great day to sit down and meditate on where do I need to slow down in my life? Where am I feeling rushed lately? Where am I feeling like I'm constantly trying to catch up? Knowing that there is nothing outside of you that you have to catch up with. Nothing is more important than your own wellbeing. Nothing is more important than your own health. And by moving at a really high pace all the time, of course we burned the candle at both ends and at the end of the day are we getting more things done just because we're running to get there?

[04:32] I am pretty certain that there is a way for us to slow down, be more present and gentle in our day-to-day life and at the end of the day still be productive and get the things done that we need to get done in a week. So beautiful intention for all of us this week. This week, I am slowing everything down. I can't wait to hear how you are slowing down this week. Such a wonderful intention maybe to share with some family and friends as well.
