[01:01] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Thursday, you beautiful human being you! I would like to take another opportunity to wish you Merry Christmas right now. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas day yesterday. Of course, today contemplating some gratitude is a really great way to tie this holiday season together. I love any type of gratitude practice any day of course can help improve how we feel about our lives, how we feel about this day, especially around holidays. I think it's easy for these days to pass by really, really quickly. We spend a lot of time preparing and getting ready for the holidays and then suddenly they're over. So a practice like sitting down and really checking in on what we have been grateful for or what moments we are grateful for that have just transpired around the holidays is a really great way to extend that feeling of Christmas and letting that Christmas spirit last for longer. So that's exactly what we are going to do today. I would love for you to find a quiet place to sit somewhere. If you have a journal and a pen that you want to bring, go ahead and do that. You can also use the notes app on your phone or even just inquiring inside of yourself right now is enough. Let's close our eyes for a moment and take a really deep, deep, deep breath. Inhale in through the nose. Open the mouth. Exhale, let something go. What are you grateful for today?

[02:54] What are you grateful for today? In this moment, right here, right now? Just feeling into your heart. What are you truly, deeply grateful for right now? So perhaps thinking back on yesterday, Christmas day or Christmas Eve before that, or any celebration that you've had around these holidays right now, what is something that absolutely stands out for you? Something that happened this week, perhaps a meeting you had with a loved one, maybe a connection made with family. Perhaps a special moment that just took place at the holidays. Maybe cooking or baking something delicious or eating something delicious. Maybe you had a heart to heart connection with someone that you haven't seen in a very long time. What is one of those very special moments that you feel you'll really remember from this holiday week and take a moment just to remember this space. Remember this moment right here, right now and let that feeling of thankfulness fill your entire body.

[04:02] Of course, we all know Christmas is not about presents. It's not about the tree or the decorations, but perhaps you've had moments connected to those things where you really felt alive. That's really what the spirit of Christmas is all about. For me, that time spent with family, that heart to heart connection of being intimate with people in my life who I love. Having space to slow down, to just enjoy myself here, now. That's what Christmas is all about for me, so whatever really comes to mind right now, maybe it's a special gift, you took a lot of time to get something really special and beautiful for someone that you love and then watching their eyes light up as they open your present. Those moments, right? It's not about the material thing that we gave them, but it's about the connection that comes along with the traditions that we have at Christmas.

[04:53] So what is a moment that really feels strong to you right now that you feel like, Uhh, when I think about Christmas next year, or maybe a year from now, I'll remember this moment. I'll remember this person. I'll remember that smile. I'll remember that feeling of being right here, connecting to that space, letting that feeling fill you from your fingertips to your toes and repeating quietly to yourself that beautiful, simple mantra: Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I know in this moment I am deeply grateful for my husband who's been such a joy to spend time with this Christmas season. He's been baking with me and cooking with me, and we've found I think a new found closeness through the preparations around Christmas that normally I feel a little more alone around and I just feel so thankful that he's joining me actually joyfully around those traditions this Christmas, because that's a first for us.

[05:58] And of course a memory that I'll take with me and cherish for the rest of my life is watching my daughter see Santa if I think for the first time in a way that she'll truly remember. There was such a beautiful, joyful moment to be there for that, and I'll remember that for a long, long time to come. So what are you deeply grateful for today? Any thankfulness that you can pull from this holiday. If you'd like to journal on it a little bit, bullet point, list it, share it with someone, something just to really allow you to hold onto that feeling of gratitude for a couple of more days.
