[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily, happy Friday and welcome to our feel-good practice of the week! I'm sure you can tell we have a little bit of a theme going this week with clearing out the old, making space for the new. So, for our feel-good practice of the week, and I know some of you guys are not going to love it, but you will love it when we're done, I swear! We are going to clean something out. We have had one of these themes for this podcast a long time ago, a little bit different. Today I want to take some time, so we're going to do something today that really brings a little bit of feel-good energy for us into the weekend and I'm going to make this simple enough that even if this is your least favorite thing to do, you will be able to do it right now after this podcast and you will feel good about it.

[00:54] I'm kind of demanding that you feel good about it. Now, we are going to clean something out. So you know, energetically this whole week has been about clearing out the old, which areas of our lives are feeling heavy or weighed down with things that don't serve us. How can we release those things, bring energy to what we actually want to invite into our lives and hopefully just feel better about where we are at in life right now in every way. So today we're going to translate this to our homes. We are all spending so much time at home right now. We are all kind of quarantined, isolated, locked inside. Many of us have already organized and cleaned out areas of our lives. But I bet you that even if you are the most organized and clean, you know, kind of neat freak person, you have something left in your house that still could use some clearing out. Right now I know, and this is something that I've been putting off for years.

[01:44] We have this big dresser right at the entrance of our house and it's kind of this area where things go to die. It's like, I can open this dresser and we have like a box with, it was supposed to be a box where you put batteries, but inside of course there's like paper clips and batteries and old toys and pens and business cards, like whoever passes that around anymore. Just things accumulate in this dresser, right? And I don't want to open those doors for anything because I have no idea what's inside. I don't know what to do with it, but I know if I actually took the time to really dig into it, clear it out, it would probably take me no more than 30 minutes to do honestly. And having that space completely clear, especially this, you know, it's the entrance of our house.

[02:27] It's literally the portal to our home. And the first thing I encounter when I come home every day, if I have left the house, which I haven't done in a long time, is this messy area. Like why? Why have I allowed that to accumulate? So I want you to do the same. You don't have to pick something daunting and big like a whole room or your closet or the garage. You can pick something small. How about the drawer in your kitchen where your forks and knives and spoons go? Like where your cutlery is? Just taking all of that out, checking out like how many forks do you have versus knives, like do you have an imbalance there? And just cleaning out the corners there. I there's so much dust and stuff and goo that accumulates in that area. Just getting that out. That's one little drawer it's going to make you feel so good.

[03:11] I swear. So you can pick something super tiny, a box, your sock drawer, your underwear drawer, like where your shoes go. A bookshelf, one area to completely organize, clean out, wipe clean, like a clean slate and then bring some things back into that space that really reflect not just who you have been, but who you are becoming right now. I feel so inspired to do this, especially for those little nitty gritty areas that I keep ignoring around my house because that feeling of having cleaned something out, it feels so good and sometimes we go about this and we just start and we realize that this whole thing that I have here, I don't even need it, right? I've done that before where I clear out one drawer and then I ended up clearing out the whole dresser and then I realized I don't even need the dresser.

[03:58] It was just filled with junk. I can actually sell it and make a little money or give it to someone who's really going to love it and put it to good use. So let's bring some fresh energy into our house. And after you have done this little task or big task, you choose how big you want to make it. You have one more task for the day and that is to open all the windows and doors of your house and literally air out your space wherever you live. You know, bringing some fresh air in from the outside is a really good thing to do. At least at some point every day. And I think when we're quarantined, we kind of get so cocooned in our space that we forget that we need fresh energy. We need fresh air. So just take a couple of minutes, you know, air everything out. If you want to light some Sage or some incense or something that feels good, or just the candle afterwards to kind of seal the whole deal of just bringing fresh energy into your house. We all need that right now. Thank you so much for practicing with me today and wishing you a really beautiful weekend ahead. Yoga Girl Daily will be back on Monday.
