[00:35] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily. Happy Wednesday, you guys! I have been trying to record this episode a couple of times now and challenging for me to keep this very positive and upbeat when as a matter of fact today, that is not how I'm feeling. So, I have decided to do this, the Yoga Girl way, which is obviously always the authentic and truthful way. It's okay to not feel okay right now. It really is okay to not feel okay right now. It's okay to not have any answers today at all. It's okay to feel unproductive like there's no meaning with what's happening today. All of those feelings are valid and it's okay to feel not okay. For today's meditation practice, I would love for us to just anchor into that place. Of course, if you are feeling happy and excited and joyful today, continue, continue elevating into that. I feel like we're all in this big roller coaster right now so when some of us are feeling high, we can help everyone else that are feeling low and then when we are feeling low, other people will feel high and they can pull us back up. So, helping each other elevate every day.
[01:55] Let's sit down and take a moment right as you are just to close the eyes and if you feel a little bit disconnected right now. I know I have been these past couple of couple of days. I feel like March has lasted several years. Lifetimes! It could be really helpful to just get into the habit of placing your hand to your heart these days. Just as a little check-in, as a little sign that you're not just going through the motions, but you're actually allowing yourself to be present with your heart as well. And if you're feeling numb right now, numb is also a feeling. Yeah, it's feeling something. So, whatever's showing up for you in this moment, allowing this practice, it's just a few minutes of your day, allowing this practice to be one that allows for you to feel the way you're feeling. And let's take a deep breath into that. Just see what that feels like inside of you. Just it's okay to feel the way you're feeling now. Big breath in and out.
[03:09] What would it be like in this moment to give everything you're feeling right now just a little more space to breathe? So, if you're feeling not okay, allow yourself to feel not okay. If you're feeling sad, give some space to that sadness. If you're angry, feel into that anger. Notice the power that sits beneath that kind of energy. And if you're feeling joyful, sometimes it can be hard to actually allow ourselves to feel joy and gratitude when so many people around us are suffering. So if you're feeling happy today, breathe space into that as well. Allow for that happiness to emanate all the way through the body. Whatever is present, let's just show up for that as we are right now. And if there's anything you can do in this moment who allow for a little bit of release of this emotion, whatever the emotion is. So it could be something physical, something that you do with your body, or it could be energetic or something that you just invite through the breath. Perhaps if, in this moment you feel sad, allowing yourself a little bit of space to cry. For that emotion, to not just sit within you, but to also be processed and released. Even if it's just for a moment.
[04:33] If you're feeling happy, can you do a little dance right now? Can you smile really big? Can you take a pose that just represents that happiness right now? Actually, whatever emotion you're feeling, what would it look like if you allowed yourself to embody that emotion right now? So if you're feeling small, maybe curling up a little bit, letting your shoulders drop inward. If you're feeling strong, maybe standing up tall like Superwoman or Superman and just fully allowing yourself to embody what's happening inside. Now, and this is important, we're not going to dwell there. We're not going to get stuck there. But instead of pretending like everything's okay when it's not, we'll give our feelings some validation. We’ll allow and accept and embrace what's happening inside of us so that we can actually do something with all of this energy. Not pretend like it's not there, not bypass, but breathing into it. Becoming very, very present with what this fragile human experience is like for you today. So, wherever you are, let's take a real deep breath in and out.
[05:54] Let's do that one more time. Breathing in and breathing out. I am allowed to feel the way I'm feeling right now. Let's keep that as our mantra for the day. I am allowed to feel what I am feeling right now. Carry that with you all the way through the day, allowing that happiness to arrive when it's there, enjoying it when it comes and holding space for your sadness and your frustration and your fear when it arrives too.
