[00:33] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Wednesday! It's Wellbeing Wednesday today, so just like every hump day, it's time for us to sit down and meditate for a moment. Wherever you're at right now, I would love for you to have a quiet space where you can sit down for meditation. Today, let's keep a little bit more of a solid posture and a sense that I want you to uncross your legs and bring the soles of your feet down to the earth. So, giving yourself a little more space to sit up tall. You can imagine that your sit bones are rooting down to the chair or to the floor, to the couch, wherever you're sitting right now. And then letting the crown of your head rise a little bit higher up toward the sky. So feeling your feet grounding to the earth is an important part of this practice, because we're going to deeply ground ourselves, not just to this present moment, but to the earth beneath us. So once you've gotten there, finding that posture where your feet are rooting to the floor, spine is long, shoulders can drop. Let's close the eyes.
[01:50] And immediately we'll take a cleansing breath here. Inhaling in through the nose. Take a moment to pause at the very top of that breath and then open your mouth and let something go. And feeling into your body right here, right now. Let's go ahead and bring our awareness all the way down, past the legs, down through the soles of your feet, and see if you can increase your connection to the earth a little bit right here. So really grounding down through the soles of the feet, feeling the soles of your feet rooting down toward the floor. And noticing that point of contact right there. Feeling the bottom of each of your toes, noticing the balls of the two feet, the heels, and also the space right around the arches where maybe you have a little bit of space between the arches of your feet and the ground beneath you. And increasing that connection, not just physically of rooting down, but also energetically feeling yourself rooting down through the floor and all the way down toward the core of the earth. So sensing yourself very grounded through the feet and in the legs in this moment. This is where you are. You're here, now. And now dropping a little bit deeper into that sensation of feeling the earth beneath you. Are you here sitting on the earth right now? Or is the earth in fact holding you up? Sensing that grounded level of support beneath your feet, that sense of stability beneath you, that sense of trust that actually comes from knowing that in this moment and in every moment, you are held, you are supported.
[04:01] And you can trust that when you fall, the earth will be here to catch you. Let's allow our next breath in to become the deepest breath we've taken all day long. So, inhale, inhale, inhale, and through the nose this time slowing the breath down. Exhale, exhale, exhale.
[04:26] Next time you inhale, imagining this breath moving in through the nose all the way down through the body, reaching the soles of the feet and then envisioning that breath drawing down through the soles of the feet and down toward the earth. Like you're taking a very anchoring breath right now. And as you exhale, you draw that exhale from the earth through the soles of the feet, back out through the body and out through the nose once again. Let's do that one more time. Inhale in through the nose. Watching the breath, moving through the body, down to the feet, and into the core of the earth. And as you exhale, you draw that exhale from the ground up through the feet, releasing it back through the nose once more. One last time, taking that grounding breath in through the nose. Pull it down through the soles of the feet and into the earth. Exhale from the earth through the feet and all the way back out through the nose. Let's turn the corners of the mouth up into just the hint of a smile, sending some gratitude to this earth for holding you up and supporting you every moment of your life.
[05:49] And then go ahead and gently blink your eyes open. Thank you so much for joining me for this very grounding practice. I hope you bring this sense of grounding with you for the rest of this day. Yoga Girl Daily will be back tomorrow.
