The Yoga Girl® Scholarship Program
We have established the Yoga Girl® Scholarship because when we say we want everyone to be a Yoga Girl®, we truly mean it. We want to be part of building a world where every person can achieve what they choose, without exclusion due to systemic disadvantage. We recognize that full equity is a lifelong vision and we are committed to doing the work required to bring us closer to that goal every day. Yoga Girl® believes justice is an essential part of our work. In order to fulfill our mission and build a more just and equitable world, we must take into account our society’s systematic inequalities, including those based on race, class, gender, ability, and geography.
We are committed to actively working toward greater diversity and creating social justice in our workplace and in our physical and online communities. (Read our full Statement of Values for Equity and Social Justice here).
Debra Silverman Applied Astrology School
We are so excited to announce that Yoga Girl® is able to gift complete scholarships for Debra Silverman’s Applied Astrology School!
This course is offered twice a year and runs for 6 weeks. In it, you not only learn about the language of astrology and the basics of reading a chart, you discover more about yourself on a deep and intimate level.
Please note this scholarship period closed on January 25, 2021. Winners will be selected and notified within 5 business days. More scholarships may be available in later Fall courses.
The Power of Practice
Access to yoga classes and other wellness and healing avenues is disproportionately available to the white community. With this knowledge and with a yoga platform of our own, it is our responsibility to ensure that the BIPOC community as well as other under-resourced groups are represented and have equal access to our offerings. To that end, we offer free memberships to our platform for members of the BIPOC community. We are able to offer a limited number of free quarterly memberships every 3 months.
If you are a member of the BIPOC community, our applications for memberships and online programs are currently open! Please click the link below to complete your application. You can also contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or wish to speak with us directly.
Retreats and Yoga Teacher Trainings
We are particularly interested in welcoming people from the BIPOC community and other under-resourced groups to our retreats and yoga teacher trainings. We do this because we know that this work is powerful and access to these programs can further empower those who haven’t previously had access. We are able to offer a limited number of scholarships every year for all retreats and teacher trainings we host.
Thank you so much for your interest in our scholarship program. At this time, due to the current world climate and COVID-19, we are not offering any in-person retreats or teacher trainings. Please check in and follow us on social media and be subscribed to our newsletter to learn when our next programs will be announced and find the application for our scholarship programs.
