Introducing Johan Ander

To work in mixed media is my passion, almost everything i do is connected to the great outdoors or something close to my heart. I shift between the moving picture through photo to sound and always try to surprise myself with new angles. My main element is water and i try to be around or in it as much as possible, i live on the island Öland. You can find me here: www.johanander.se

What was the assignment?

To create various vibes and take product photos for the #iamayogagirl-product range including the lovely pins, totes and pouches.

What are your major conclusions?

That the values and elements that Rachel and the Yoga Girl® brand stands for resonate with my whole being. So, I’ve taken on the creative tasks with joy, and the feeling of purpose and fulfillment. I’m grateful to be part of this empowering community.

What do you think is unique with Yoga Girl®?

The values and the manifesto of the brand, what it stands up for. Being part of such an empowering and inspiring community is really something that feels unique and important in this time, for the planet and all living things. The team has really created a ground where you feel inspired to heal and grow at the same time. It’s truly an honor to be part of something this great.

What were your takeaways and what did you learn from this partnership?

This has really been something that sparked my creativity and at the same time I have had a lot of fun! On many levels the values Rachel and the Yoga Girl® brand stands for are themes and topics that can be sensitive, but that’s just it! It’s ok to be sensitive and to be yourself. This sort of awareness is really inspiring to me and I hope to bring forth this mindset on other projects and in life itself. The feeling that anything is possible! And that change starts from within - I can barely touch my toes but I’m getting there!

#businessforchange, what does this mean to you?

To me, this is inspirational strength- that if you must stand up for your being with a conscious mindset. This really is something that is needed in our western society and can’t be highlighted enough. Also, when you start where you are from within, then real change can manifest globally, just like in the Yoga Girl® brand, which I’m sure will inspire many companies and businesses to make a difference.

Taking Care of Your Inner Creative Child

As artists, whether it be a writer, actor, painter, poet, we often refer to our ‘inner child’ as the source of our creative abilities. The part of ourselves that ‘arts’. That compels us to tell stories. As children, we create with unharnessed vigor.

I’m Not “Brave”, I’m Human—Stop the Body Shaming

Amy Schumer was called “brave” for her photo shoot she did in her underwear, holding a cup of coffee. Someone else looked at that same photo and likened her to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. When you share a photo of yourself as you truly are, you’re being beautifully human. Not brave. It’s time to stop the body shaming.
