Vira Rasa

Cultivate the essence, the Rasa, of your inner warrior archetype with this brilliantly sequenced Vinyasa practice with Coral as she weaves the ancient story of Shiva and Sati.

Begin grounding the body and breath into the present moment, then unravel tension in the spine, hips, and chest with intuitive Vinyasa movement. Pause in Chair Pose (Utkatasana) before flowing through Vinyasas and Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) featuring Revolved High Crescent Twists (Parivrtta Ashta Chandrasana), Low Lunges (Anjaneyasana), Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I), Warrior III, Warrior II, and Reverse/Peaceful Warrior (Viparita Virabhadrasana). Continue with standing hip-openers, Extended Side Angle (Utthita Parsvakonasana), Reverse Triangle (Viparita Trikonasana), Half Monkey/Splits (Ardha Hanumanasana), and Wild Thing (Camatkarasana) then transition into Hero Pose (Virasana) for deep quad and hip flexor opening.

Follow the breath as you flow through a High Crescent (Ashta Chandrasana), Warrior III, and Standing L/Split (Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana) sequence, with option to test your balance in Sugarcane Pose (Ardha Chandra Chapasana) or Dancer's Pose (Natarajasana). Open the heart with Bow Pose (Dhanurasana), and continue opening the hips with Flying Pigeon Pose (Eka Pada Galavasana), King Pigeon Pose I (Eka Pada Rajakapotasana I), and Half Pigeon Pose (Ardha Kapotasana). As Coral finishes the story of Shiva and Sati, settle your heart and allow yourself to rest in Reclined Spinal Twists (Supta Matsyendrasana), and finally, Savasana.

For this class, 1-2 blocks, a strap, and a blanket are recommended for additional length and support.
