Manipura Flow
favorite_border

Expect some heat and fire as you explore your 3rd chakra, the Manipura Chakra, in this dynamic flow practice. This class will help you to establish awareness in your body, cultivate a strong core (where your Manipura Chakra resides), and will leave you feeling strong and connected.

Begin seated, connecting to the breath with Ujjayi Pranayama (Victorious Breath) and Kali Mudra to channel the powerfully fierce energy of the Goddess Kali, then make your way to Boat Pose (Navasana) to wake up the Manipura Chakra that resides in the solar plexus (aka core). Transition to Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana) to move through a variation of Sun Salutation B (Surya Namaskar B), then progress through cycles of strength and confidence-building planks and high crescent lunges. Continue with an inspiring Sphinx Pose (Salamba Bhujangasana), Forearm Plank (Makara Adho Mukha Svanasana), Bow Pose (Dhanurasana), Chair Pose (Utkatasana), and Warrior (Virabhadrasana) sequence to burn through any shame and doubt and conjure up the power and courage you hold within. Challenge your balance with a strong crescent lunge/Warrior III sequence, before making your way back down to seated to round out and cool down your practice.

For this class, two blocks (or homemade substitutes) are optional for additional length and support.
