Rising and Resetting
favorite_border

Rise and greet the day with this beautiful morning yoga flow as you reset your heart and align with your highest self. Open your heart to the day, to gratitude, to abundance, and release any restrictions through the breath. Let this class serve as your reminder that every day is a new chance to start anew.

After reading a beautiful passage, Ashley invites you to begin your Sadhana (daily spiritual practice) by connecting to the sound of 'OM' and giving thanks to the body and the breath. You'll then connect to your breath and gently wake up the hips, core, spine, feet, and shoulders. Continue lengthening and creating space in the hips and hamstrings with low lunges, Pyramid Pose (Parsvottanasana) and Lizard Pose (Utthan Pristhasana), and briefly challenge the core with Plank Pose (Utthita Chaturanga Dandasana) and Balancing Table Pose (Dandayamana Bharmanasana).

Move to standing as you build strength in the lower body and challenge your balance with Tree Pose (Vrksasana), before mindfully flowing through a few rounds of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) with twists, folds, shoulder openers, and strong standing Warrior (Virabhadrasana) postures throughout. Come back down to the floor for Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana), with an option to try Wheel Pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana), then softly find opening and release in the hips and lower abdominals with some gentle self-massage before fully resting in Savasana.

For this class, we recommend two blocks for additional length and support. A blanket, and a wall or chair are optional.

The book referenced in this class is called You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay.
