[00:40] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Monday! It's Make It Happen Monday today. It's time for us to anchor into an intention for this week. Now, I don't know where you are at exactly in terms of this lockdown in this pandemic, but for me today marks 37 days of staying at home. Now, 37 days is a long time. I realized today that I'm slipping into thinking that this is normal. I'm slipping into thinking that this is normal, that this is going to last forever. I think it's very hard to stay absolutely alert all the time. So eventually we are going to begin to accept this as our new reality. And it's important that we do not become complacent thinking that lockdown time or pandemic time is going to last forever. No, no, no, no, no. We have to stay absolutely anchored in who we are, doing things that make us feel good, not let ourselves go down that slippery slope of feeling like this is the end of the world because it is not. It can't be. It feels like it is at times, but it's not.

[01:50] So what I want to do this week is to try to really keep us from getting depressed, to keep us from feeling low and everyday focus on something and do something that makes us come alive. So this week, dedicating this week to joy, to feeling happy. And if you're not feeling happy to do things that normally make you feel happy, tapping into that place inside of you that actually brings you to a place of aliveness. So, our collective intention for this week is this: This week I will do things that make me come alive. This week I will do things that make me come alive. So taking a moment right now just to feel into that, what is that practice that you have or the thing that you do or that person that you sometimes spend time with that makes you feel so alive and absolutely present in your body?

[02:46] What is that thing that really makes you come alive? Because chances are that we are letting some of those things slip. We have so many things to worry about right now. It might feel like this conceited thing to suddenly start to try and focus on happiness when there is so much suffering around. This is your wake-up call. This is me telling you that it is absolutely crucial that you do things that bring you joy. It's absolutely crucial that you anchor into the things and the practices that make you come alive. Because all of us sinking into a place of depression at the same time is not going to take us anywhere good. And we can only be of service for this world and for other people when we are tapped into that place of aliveness inside of ourselves. So focusing on yourself right now is doing all of humanity a service.

[03:31] What makes you come alive? What is that thing that you do that makes you feel absolutely here? For some of us, maybe that's spending time in nature. Yeah, maybe it's really going outside when you have the space and when you can to commune with nature. For some of us, it's our yoga practice. For me lately, really the one thing that works, it used to be just yoga, but now I feel like I need to add an extra level to really feel okay in my day. For me it's dancing. And not the kind of dancing that you would do if you were, you know, out at a bar or something. But ecstatic, wild, go totally crazy, channel my inner toddler dancing. The cool thing about dancing for me is it doesn't take that much time. Actually one really good song, going totally crazy in my kitchen with that good song can turn my whole day for a while and then it makes me feel so alive.

[04:24] So music dancing, that's a good one for me. For you, maybe it's creating. Yeah, maybe it's really tapping into that place of drawing, of writing, of journaling, of creating something. Finding a good use of your hands and your inner creativity to bring something to life that wasn't there before. But this week, focus on things that make you come alive. And if you're not doing those things enough, if they're not present in every day of your life right now, make sure that they are. Bring some discipline into that joy. Honestly, I say that almost as if it's a joke, but it's not. Being disciplined around what brings us joy is something we should all be doing right now because we need this joy and we need it bad and we need it every day. So this week I will do things that make me come alive. I will focus on things that make me come alive, and hopefully we can spread some of that aliveness, some of that zest for life and some of that joy all around. Thank you so much for setting this very important and I hope joyful intention for you and for all of us this week. Yoga Girl Daily will be back tomorrow.
