[00:35] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily, happy Friday and welcome to our Feel-Good Friday episode of this week. So, I think there's not a lot of people out there who are feeling generally good these days, so this Friday practice I think is more important than ever. Every Friday we have either a little bit of an action or some advice or something to take us through the weekend feeling good, which right now might just mean feeling a little bit better. Today I have a poem that I'm going to read for us, and this is a poem that's been on my mind all week. When I recorded this week's meditation episode, which I centered around allowing our feelings to show up as they are, allowing ourselves to be the way we are, I was reminded by this Rumi poem that I used to use to carry with me all the time.
[01:29] It was one of those poems that I had in a notebook forever. And it's been a minute since I really connected deeply with this poem and it's just one that is, it's a very famous one. It's a very known one. You might have heard it many times, but it's one that for me, resonates every single time. So as you listen to these words, see if you can really feel into your heart. If it feels good to do so, you can close your eyes and place one or both hands to your heart and take a moment just breathe and listen. This is ‘The Guest House’.
[02:08] “This being human is a guest house. Every morning, a new arrival, a joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all.
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture. Still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”

Just what Rumi speaks of in this poem, if you can allow yourself to be this present, allowing every emotion to come your way, to be there as it is, invite each of them in.
