[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily, happy Friday! We've made it through the week. It's almost time for us to enjoy the weekend and just with every Friday I have a practice for us that's going to make us feel really, really good today. Today for our feel-good practice, I want us to do something that will make us laugh. Laughing, it's the best. It's the best thing in the whole world. We need to incorporate actual activities in our day to day that simply make us feel joy. For me, I'm one of those people, I tend to get really invested in my work and the things they have to do every day and I do things that bring me joy sort of on the side. Today and for this weekend, I want you to prioritize something that makes you really happy, something that gives you a great laugh and you know what that thing is, right?
[00:55] Maybe it's putting on your favorite comedy, bringing all of your friends to your house, having a really fun movie night, watching a great movie that will make you laugh. It could be spending time with your kids or with a kid that you have in your life. Doesn't have to be your own kid. Kids are so great when it comes to making us just put everything else aside and just do things that are fun. I never laugh more than I do when I'm playing with my daughter. So spending time with a child. Kids are professionals when it comes to just having fun and enjoying our day. So spend time with a kid. It actually really works. Something that makes you laugh, something that makes you just kick your heels up and enjoy your day. Maybe it's reading a really fun book, watching your favorite comedy special on Netflix.
[01:39] Maybe listening to a really fun podcast, doing something that's going to make you laugh, to just let your shoulders drop and enjoy this moment. You can also do something that's a little bit more out of your way. Maybe go see an actual comedy show. That's one of my favorite things to do. One of my big regrets or things that I really miss about living in a Caribbean Island is we don't have that available to us here. So if you live in a city where you have actual comedy shows, go enjoy that. You can also go take a laughing yoga class, that's hilarious and super, super fun. Or simply go on YouTube or Google laughing meditation. It's a meditation practice where you start to just make yourself purposefully laugh, which always feels ridiculous and weird and fake because you have to kind of fake laugh in the beginning and then suddenly just because you're in that vibration and the energy of laughter, actual happiness sets in and before you know it, you're actually laughing.
[02:36] And it's one of those absurdly wonderful things to do by yourself at your house, like totally crazy and amazing to just laugh for no reason. And then let that laughter fill your body and take over. So today it's a pretty simple self-care practice, but make sure it actually happens. Make sure you go do it. Go do something that makes you laugh, something you truly enjoy, and then hopefully you can ride that epic energy all weekend long. I'm excited to spend some extra time with my daughter today doing things that she really enjoys. She's playing this game right now where she pretends there are fires, and she pretends there are things we have to overcome in the house, like we have little obstacle courses and the floor is lava. It's so much fun to just let my inner child come out to play. How are you going to laugh today? Try to make sure you invite your friends, your family, your people.
