[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Thursday, everyone! Today's Thursday and I don't know about you, but I am so damn grateful to be alive. I'm pretty sure you've figured it out already, but Thankful Thursdays are all about gratitude, feeling really, genuinely, authentically grateful for the many blessings that we all have in our lives. It doesn't always happen on its own. Of course, we all have those wonderful magical days when everything is going great and automatically we feel grateful, but many of us need that little reminder to look around and acknowledge the beauty that is all around, especially if we're having a tough day or especially, especially if we're having a really tough week or a tough month. Having a gratitude practice is a really great addition to a yoga or meditation practice and just feeling gratitude in our day-to-day life can actually turn our lives around.
[00:57] So that is why for Thankful Thursdays we are going to be tapping into gratitude in different ways. Every single week I might share a specific gratitude practice or a meditation or give little tips and tools for how you can practice looking for and then speaking your gratitude out loud. Every single episode we'll of course end with a big huge THANK YOU. So let's go ahead and dive in! Today for Thankful Thursday, I want you to focus on a person, so an actual human being, a person that you have in your life right now that you are immensely grateful for, and take a moment just to sit with that for a second. So a person you have in your life right now that you are immensely grateful for, perhaps someone immediately popped up in the back of your head, you're like, oh, I know that person right away.
[01:46] Maybe it's someone you spend time with every day. So it could be someone obvious in your life, but perhaps your attention went somewhere else. Maybe toward a person that's a little unexpected, maybe someone you haven't spoken to in a while or someone maybe whose presence in your life you take for granted. If you're having a hard time connecting to a person, then take a moment to close the eyes and place your hands to your heart and feel into that space right now. Who is this person? Who is this person that you have in your life that you are so grateful for? How does their presence in your day enrich your life? Maybe it's something that this person has done for you, something really specific that they provided you with or helped you with. It could also just be that this person has an overall quality that just lifts you up every single day.
[02:34] So once you have that person, know that this is a very special person. Of course, once you have them envisioned in your mind, go ahead and bring all of that energy down to your heart center and just hold them there for a second. Feel their presence in your heart for a moment. How fantastic. Really, how amazing is it to be blessed with such a beautiful person in your life? Really think about that. Maybe you've had a low day or days when you're not feeling worthy or good enough. And just acknowledge the fact that you have this amazing person in your life. That means that they are somehow attracted to your amazing energy, so trust that they are in your life for a reason. Now, just to magnify that sense of gratitude. Take this moment to silently just in your mind, silently to yourself. Repeat to yourself: Thank you.
[03:28] Thank you. Thank you, thank you. And do that a few times. Just like a mantra. Repeating it again and again in your head. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And in this moment, if you're anything like me, maybe you're smiling right now. The corners of your mouth just went straight up. Bringing our awareness to something we're grateful for, someone we're grateful for. It brings us so much joy. There's this automatic vibration of joy that just balances off gratitude. And by saying that again and again, or repeating that in your mind. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Envision a little avenue of gratitude from your heart straight into the heart of that other person. So wherever they are right now, maybe they're far. Maybe they're really close by. Trust that in this moment, the moment you send them gratitude, they experienced that on some cellular level in their being, in their heart. They're feeling and receiving that gratitude right now. Well, let's take a really full deep breath, just an acknowledgement of how beautiful this life is. Exhale to release. Oh, I'm just sitting here smiling right now. I'm so grateful for you. I really am from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for listening. Thank you for tuning in. Thank you for practicing this gratitude. I really believe it contains a whole day or even a whole life.
