[00:04] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Tuesday! It's time for our Tune-In Tuesday practice of this week, which of course is taking a moment to reflect on a specific topic so we can get to know ourselves just a little bit better. Today I have something in mind that I feel is going to give us a little bit of a boost this week. I want to talk about empowerment. It's such a hugely important feeling and a big, big, big piece of our wellbeing actually sits in our ability to feel strong, centered and empowered in our lives. There really is nothing worse than feeling weak or feeling like a victim or feeling left behind. So I want to take a moment for us to really identify a practice that we have or something that we do in our day to day or maybe even people that we surround ourselves with.

[00:55] Moments in our lives where we feel actually empowered and strong. So, our inquiry is: I feel empowered when… I feel empowered when… So, take a moment, maybe just closing the eyes for a few breaths here so we can feel into the body and beginning to connect our energy right now to that feeling of empowerment. When was the last time in your life that you remember feeling absolutely empowered? Perhaps it's something little that you do in your day to day, just a little routine that you have or something that you do, a practice, an experience that you've had where you remember feeling that strong sense of empowerment, of being able to hold your chin up high and just walking through that day feeling really strong. When was the last moment you had that experience? I can immediately link that to a really good run I had this week.

[01:52] I haven't been running for a couple of weeks, so it's been a while, but I actually had a, for some reason just really smooth and solid run. I ran just 5k not too far where I felt really strong all the way through and there was something about that workout that when I finished I was just feeling so good and so strong in my own body that actually it helped me make a really important decision and have a little bit of a confrontation that I had been avoiding for a long time. Just that feeling of empowerment of me feeling at home in my own body helped me make that decision. So for me, I can really connect that feeling of empowerment to any kind of physical movement, anything that makes me feel kind of badass and sweating and working my body, engaging, activating my muscles. That helps me tap into that feeling.

[02:41] So what about you? When was the last time you felt really empowered? What does that practice, that thing that you do sometimes that helps you feel strong and empowered in your own body. Perhaps you have a person in your life that automatically makes you feel that way. I feel like other people who really are standing in their own power, they have this way of, it's almost like its infectious empowerment. Or maybe you have that friend or someone in your family that keeps lifting you and building you up that just has the way about them where they say the right thing and they're able to bring you back into your own body in that way. Perhaps empowerment for you means not just the practice that you do or people that you have in your life, but maybe it's drawing a line, just standing up and saying, no, this is not okay for me.

[03:27] Setting a boundary can be hugely empowering for ourselves. Really defining what we want out of our lives and not letting anybody else walk all over us. So taking a moment just to meditate on this, contemplating this a little bit, a really great way to tap deeper into that is to journal, so just starting a blank new page in your journal writing at the very top. I feel empowered when… and then do some stream of consciousness journaling around that. Just finish the sentence and keep writing. Keep writing. Keep writing. I feel empowered when… Of course, the purpose of this practice today is to do more of that thing that helps you feel empowered or to spend more time with that person that helps you feel empowered or just to anchor a little bit deeper into that daily practice of empowerment. Making your way to feeling really strong in your body, in your heart, in your soul every damn day. Wishing you a deeply empowered rest of this day and Yoga Girl Daily will be back tomorrow.
