[00:31] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily and happy Friday, everyone! It's Feel-Good Friday. We've made it through a whole entire work week and we are about to head into the weekend, so of course over here at Yoga Girl Daily we have Feel-Good Friday today, which means we're going to drop into a self-care practice and do something really good and really beautiful for ourselves that's going to make us feel good and we can ride that Feel-Good wave all through the weekend.

[01:25] I want our Feel-Good Friday to be about creativity. This is a really important thing that I feel like a lot of us sometimes lose sight of or we don't make enough space for. At least that's what it goes from me. Some of us are naturally very, very creative. We have that creative outlet that we come back to again and again. For some of us we might feel very disconnected from the idea of creativity. Perhaps we're super busy in our day-to-day lives, we have a lot of things going on with work and family and the idea of getting creative just gets put on the back burner. But matter of fact, as human beings we are meant to create. There is something uniquely beautiful that you have inside of yourself that feels really good to let out creatively. We all of course have our own ways.

[02:11] So for some of us we enjoy painting. You might be a person who loves to write, maybe you like to dance or to sing. Maybe you'd like to go out into nature and create something there. There is something unique inside of you that you are going to get to release and let out by doing something creative today. And if you want, you can make this practice today be something totally different that you normally don't actually do. So for me, I tend to get really creative by writing. I love to write, I write a lot. So I actually don't think about my writing as a big creative outlet all the time because it's something that I usually do every single day. What I struggle with when it comes to getting creative is doing something with my hands. I very rarely go and paint something or create something using my hands.

[02:58] Anything beyond drawing with a crayon, with my daughter, it feels really beyond me. So today, take the time to do something creative that's a little bit out of your comfort zone. So perhaps go try a brand new dance class somewhere, or you know, buy some paint and a canvas and make a painting from scratch without having a single clue as to how that works. If you feel a little bit lost in the kitchen, how about you go and bake something, do something creative that allows you to put your phone away, you know, turn your phone off, take all those distractions of the day-to-day life and just put them aside so you can completely immerse yourself just in the process of creation. It doesn't matter what the outcome is. It doesn't have to be that you've produced this beautiful painting at the end of it, or you've baked something perfect and delicious at the end of it.

[03:47] Perhaps you did and then you have that, you know, little bonus at the end of that creation. Perhaps it's a complete disaster. And what you bake didn't turn out great. And you know your painting looks crazy. It doesn't matter. It's not about creating something with a purpose or for something to look in a certain way. It's about actually immersing yourself in something without having to think about it, without having to use your mind, without having to sit there with your thoughts and think about getting from A to Z, but just allowing yourself to become present while creating. So sit down and write something or get in the kitchen and cook something or sit down at your kitchen table and draw something. Paint something, build something that's a big one. Build something, something that maybe you think that this is not for me. You know, I'm not good at that.

[04:35] This is not about being good at something. It's about immersing ourselves just in the art of creating. Trust me that just getting really present and letting yourself relax into that for a moment is going to make you feel really, really, really good. It will be a really great transition from this busy work week into the weekend and most of all have it be something really fun. Maybe invite your friends, your kids, your family. Make it a thing for everyone to do, just to create and spend some time together. Or if you want to be alone, then go do it alone. But let's get creative and really tap into that inner creative fire that we all have and actually just getting started, creating something, whatever it is, can be a really good way for us to bring some new inspiration and motivation into our lives. So whatever you're creating today, I would love to see what you're creating. So take a photo of that process. You can post it anywhere on social media, use the tag #yogagirldaily, and we can all take part of each other's creation. I can't wait to see what you will be creating today. I hope you feel really, really good this Friday, and I hope you get to take that feel-good feeling all the way into the rest of this weekend. Thank you so much for tuning in to Yoga Girl Daily this week, and I'll see you Monday.
