[00:05] Welcome to Yoga Girl Daily! Happy Tuesday, everyone, and welcome to our Tune-In Tuesday episode of the week. So, every single Tuesday, if you listen to this podcast, you know already, we pick a topic to contemplate. It's really about tuning into a really quiet space inside of ourselves, where we can either meditate on or contemplate a specific topic, and hopefully at some point today, sit down and use this topic as either a journaling prompt, or a prompt to share on with a friend or with someone in your family.

[00:42] Today, I want to talk about hope. This has really been lingering on my mind for a long time, just hope in general. We live at a time right now where I feel like we get told pretty much all throughout the day that things are looking pretty bleak. You know, if we turn on the news, almost everything we hear is negative. I find that it's easy these days to drop into negative conversations, even with people who normally are very positive and uplifting. So many people are just having a challenging time. So, today I want to take a moment for us all to contemplate hope. What makes you feel hopeful about our future? And this is a really important topic to meditate on, a really important prompt to journal on if you have been feeling hopeless lately, or especially if you're having one of those days where just everything looks really bleak.

[01:37] I find sometimes, you know, and some days are easier than others, but sometimes it literally feels like every single piece of news that I get is that something terrible has happened again. Or the terrible thing that we were already experiencing has gotten worse or nothing is getting better, and then there's this thing and that thing. And there's just so much that if we look at it from the standpoint of the mind, just taking in this negative information, our future can start to look pretty hopeless. And I think it's so, so, so important that we anchor into these practices that actually remind us that we are on our way somewhere good. That part inside of ourselves, that actually believes that we are going to get through this, and we're going to end up somewhere on the other side. And we are going to feel ease and joy and love and trust, and we are going to hug again and things are going to be okay.

[02:33] I really believe even for the most cynical and you know, the most negative people that we encounter, that we all have that place inside, where we really do feel a sense of faith, a sense of trust, a sense of hope. So, it's a really good practice to remind ourselves of that and maybe try a little harder to actually lean in toward those moments or people or experiences that remind us of hope. So, our topic for today really is the topic of hope. I feel hopeful when I… That's a really good prompt just to begin to anchor into that place. When was the last time you really felt hopeful about our future, the last experience you had or something that's come your way lately that actually just gave you that sense of faith, that sense of trust. It could be something small, it could be something really big, maybe something beautiful came your way lately.

[03:25] Perhaps you experienced another person's total random act of kindness towards you lately. Maybe being out in nature, you know, just being in that quiet place of mother earth really holding us, reminds you that we are going to be okay in the end, we are held, we are supported even in the moments when we feel like we're not. For me, I feel hopeful when I look into the eyes of my three-year-old daughter, just spending, you know, undisturbed time with her, listening to the words that come out of her mouth. I mean, she's just, she's hope on legs. This little girl, you know, there's not a distrusting bone in her body and spending time with any children, you know, at least for me is really, really helpful to bring me back into that place of my inner child, where everything is easy, right? Where we just trust that we are going to be okay.

[04:18] There's going to be someone at the other end of this to hold us up, to give us a helping hand. We are going to be okay. So, I know the more time I spend with her and that totally undistracted way, the easier it is for me to feel hopeful about our future, because I can trust that she's going to grow up and become a woman that's actually shaping a different kind of world, right? With different kinds of tools than the tools I had when I was little or that my parents had when they were little and my grandparents and going all the way back. So, spending time with her, it just brings me hope every day. What brings you hope? What reminds you of that feeling like yes, we are going to be okay, or yes, I trust that this is all going to take us somewhere good.

[05:02] Take a moment today to really contemplate this, or maybe right at the end of this podcast, give yourself 10 minutes to close your eyes and just feel into your body. Looking for that sense of hope. Especially if you've been feeling hopeless lately, take extra time to journal on or share or talk about this topic today and then try to identify those moments or experiences that you actually have that bring you that sense of hope and make sure you do more of them. Make sure you do more of them. So, lean into that sense of hope, especially on days when it's hard. Wishing you a hopeful, trusting beautiful rest of this day. Thank you so much for tuning in.
